It makes me feel importa...

I like feeling entitled. It makes me feel important and special. without my entitlement attitude, I would be forced to recognize and reevaluate my pitiful existence in the grand scheme of the universe and acknowledge that I am nothing more than just another body in the total count of six billion human beings, with about as much clout as an ink jet printer and no claim on anything at all except the huge debt I am accumulating (can one be 'entitled' to debt?).

That makes me feel bad. So instead, I'll choose to force everyone in the grid, Lindens included, to do everything I say and give me whatever I want for whatever price I say (If you're lucky I'll be generous and give ya L$1 for it) in an attempt to hide from reality and delude myself into a sense of (unwarranted) importance and stature. If you think I'm being rude, think of how rude YOU'RE being in forcing me to reconsider and injure my self-esteem, you sick cruel uncaring person. Tsk tsk

By the way, you owe me a L$10 refund for the time I spent reading this entry.

Allow me to clarify the difference between a "free...

Allow me to clarify the difference between a "freebie" and a "gift" - which also will turn this post we each are commenting on into an oxymoron! LOL

A "freebie" in my mind is when someone dumps something in a box, that anyone can come-along and click. Or, a camping chair that gives Linden Dollars or gifts all for being a drooling zombie. These are what I refer to when I say "freebie".

A Lucky-Chair, A scavenger (or other) Hunt, Items sent through specific group channels... these are *gifts*.

In other words, the recipient must actively pay attention somehow - to something. They must do something to actually earn the gift. Group-channels are bona-fide gifts.

So, the difference between a Camping Chair and a Lucky Chair: to receive the item froma Lucky Chair, you have to pay attention. Thus, you are not a drooling zombie. I do not consider this "traffic-gaming" because it is an actual *activity*.

The Camping Chair on the other hand is evil because anyone (especially bots) can just plop their virtual asses down and the typist can then leave the computer entirely. There is no *activity* - the participants are now drooing, mindless bots. The only difference between this and a box of freebies is that the box is just a "click-and-run'.

So - from my own perspective: Lucky Chairs, Scavenger Hunts, Contests, even items passed through Group Channels are all: *gifts*. If this is what the Themed inSL blog is focussing on - "gifts" rather than "freebies" - then I will jump-for-joy with all manner of yippie-kai-yay as that blog does not contribute to the "freebie" scourge, but promotes actually participating in activity to "earn" these "gifts". :)

I am glad you found some use for the blog and the ...

I am glad you found some use for the blog and the products featured. I believe that advertising is one of the reasons these generous content creators make gifts available in the first place. I am pleased to do my small part to showcase them.

The items given in lucky chairs, hunts, camping chairs and especially group gifts are often also available in store to purchase and as such do reflect the quality of their product line.

I have no way to measure the return on investment.I do know that I often see many other avatars standing around waiting for lucky chairs or filling a sim while we hunt for the gifts. Not all ever return to purchase an item but some will and all do generate real traffic.

GG
